UNLV Offers 2016 Prospect Justin Jackson

According to multiple sources, UNLV has offered a scholarship to Class of 2016 prospect Justin Jackson.

Jackson, a 6-foot-7 forward, is ranked No. 6 in his class by Rivals and No. 7 by ESPN. An athletic wing player, he was impressive this summer at the Adidas Super 64, which was held in Las Vegas.

A Canada native, Jackson transferred to Findlay Prep over the summer—two points that could work in UNLV’s favor. The Rebels have had recent success with Canadian prospects like Anthony Bennett and Khem Birch, and they’ve also recruited well out of Findlay Prep, landing Bennett in 2012 and Carlos Lopez-Sosa in 2009 (though Lopez-Sosa was recruited by the previous coaching regime).

I think it’s also safe to assume that Jackson has a good relationship with UNLV assistant Todd Simon, considering Simon was the head coach at Findlay when Jackson was being recruited there.

So while much of the recruiting attention surrounding UNLV is currently centered on 2014 stars Goodluck Okonoboh (in town for a visit this weekend) and Rashad Vaughn (settling in down the road at Findlay Prep), it appears Jackson is also firmly entrenched on the Rebels’ radar.

You can view Jackson’s highlight video below.
