UNLV announced on Monday that it will be playing a home-and-home series with Kansas, starting in the 2014-15 season.
The Rebels will travel to Lawrence next year to take on Kansas at the historic Allen Fieldhouse, and the Jayhawks will return the favor in 2016-17 by visiting the Thomas and Mack Center.
This has to be seen as good news for UNLV supporters, as the trip to Lawrence will undoubtedly be one of the biggest games on the Rebels’ schedule for 2014-15. Kansas is consistently one of the nation’s elite teams, and though freshman star Andrew Wiggins will likely be gone by then, it’s probably safe to say that coach Bill Self will have the Jayhawks in contention again next year.
Adding this home-and-home with Kansas to the four-year deal with Arizona (which starts this season), and it looks like the Rebels have the makings of a strong non-conference schedule for at least the next few seasons.
