Dwayne Morgan was arrested over the weekend and has been suspended indefinitely by Marvin Menzies.
Morgan reportedly had an incident with a cab driver. UNLV says it is currently gathering information on the situation before making another move.
Morgan missed all but eight games last season due to shoulder and hip injuries. He is hoping to get a medical redshirt that would give him two more years of eligibility.
He was expected to compete with incoming junior college transfer Shakur Juiston for the starting power forward spot.
It remains to be seen how serious this incident was and how serious the punishment for Morgan will be. UNLV currently has one more player than available scholarships, and while it has been widely assumed either Ben Coupet or Djordjije Sljivancanin will be the odd man out, Morgan’s situation could change that.
According to the Las Vegas Sun, Morgan called Marvin Menzies as the argument was happening.
